He-Man, Eggy and Bimbo: Federal RICO case has some epic criminal nicknames

With names like Papo Swing, Oreo, Negro Steele, and Rafa Colgate, the indictment in a federal drug and weapons case in Puerto Rico and its list of 105 defendants makes great reading.

Unsealed Wednesday is a nine count RICO indictment naming over a hundred defendants charged with being part of a criminal organization known as La Rompe ONU.

The 94 page indictment details drive-by shootings, massacres, firearms offenses, racketeering and drug dealing in public housing projects across the commonwealth. A 700 member police dragnet seized 32 firearms and $82 million in assets from the group earlier this month in a string of arrests.

As alleged by court documents the defendants include 35 leaders who directed and supervised the organization’s criminal activities, 25 enforcers, eight suppliers, 11 runners, 25 sellers and one drug processor– the last known as Willy Wonka.

Of the 105 named co-conspirators, only nine had no criminal alias listed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Here is a run down of the accused that is, sadly, without explanation of their nickname or how they acquired it.
