Governor Chris Christie’s war on guns marches on.
Colorado ––(Ammoland.com)- Last week he announced he’s again teaming up with the radical anti-gunners in Trenton to force even more gun-grabbing restrictions on New Jersey residents.
Worse, Governor Christie isn’t just interested in gun control, he thinks he can legislate something even broader — he calls it “violence control.”
After hiding behind his desk for weeks, promising to give anti-gun bills “due consideration,” Christie is now touting his own variant of anti-gun legislation regurgitated to him by his anti-gun “task force.”
“The assembly has put some [anti-gun] bills forward, the senate’s gonna put some [anti-gun] bills forward, I’ve now put [anti-gun] bills forward, and now we have to let the process work to reach consensus…” exclaimed Christie.
Translation: He’s proclaiming that New Jersey’s existing draconian anti-gun laws aren’t infringing on your Second Amendment rights ENOUGH.
He wants MORE STATIST CONTROL over gun owners in New Jersey.
And, as a man with clear presidential aspirations, he’s hell-bent on surpassing the weak-on-gun-rights, weak-on-the-Constitution positions of past failed nominees.
Make no mistake, Christie’s latest effort to “polish up” for the upcoming national beauty contest will be at the EXPENSE of the rights of all law-abiding New Jersey residents — like you — here and now.
Just what does Christie’s gun control scheme look like?
For starters, it includes:
*** An arbitrary BAN on Barrett .50 caliber rifles;
*** Expanding the background check REGISTRATION SCHEME to include so-called “mental health” data — stripping you of your right to purchase a firearm if you meet the government’s intentionally low-set bar of what is “crazy;”
*** Forcing people who buy firearms to show their driver’s license along with your government-issued permit (permission slip) to purchase — even though your driver’s license is ALREADY required to get a Firearm Purchaser Identification Card;
*** Making it easier to involuntarily commit people, effectively stripping them of their gun rights WITHOUT DUE PROCESS; and,
*** A whole host of increased penalties for already existing crimes — even crimes involving minor oversights by otherwise law-abiding gun owners.
And, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
This still has to make it through the RADICAL anti-gun legislature in Trenton, which is already well on its way to passing TWO DOZEN of the most draconian anti-gun bills in the country.
Now, Governor Christie’s anti-gun cries have opened the FLOODGATES for billionaire-playboy New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s agenda to flow through the halls of your State Capitol.
Governor Christie KNOWS this — but is again choosing to walk with the likes of President Obama during this storm.
He KNOWS that the so-called “consensus” is virtually certain to include ALL of his anti-gun proposals AND MORE.
Chris Christie has now put New Jersey on the path to meet — or even EXCEED — what gun-grabbing Democratic Governors just signed into law in New York, Maryland, Colorado and Connecticut.
You and I know NONE of the current laws or proposed new anti-gun laws will deter violent criminals.
Criminals aren’t interested in gun control laws, other than when it helps them by making things harder for law-abiding gun-owners.
That’s why I hope you’ll contact Governor Christie now and urge him to abandon his war on the Second Amendment in New Jersey!
