Orlando, FL -(AmmoLand.com)- Florida Virtual School (FLVS) and The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announce the launch of Outdoor Education’s new “Virtual Field Day” (VFD) segments.

The VFD was developed by Fresh Air Educators to help students earn their Florida Hunter Education Certification which is required to obtain a Florida Hunters License.

To earn a Florida Hunter Education Certification students had to attend a FWC Outdoor Field day event. These events can be difficult to find in some areas and out of the question for students without transportation. The creation of Outdoor Education’s Virtual Field Day ensures all students who wish to earn their Florida Hunter Education Certification have the opportunity to do so in the comfort of their home.

Approved by the FWC, the new virtual field and range day segments are offered online and include all the information students receive in the outdoor event. The information is fully narrated and written, with cutting-edge videos and interactives demonstrating the field day course material allowing students to learn their way. Content includes firearm safety instruction, a muzzleloader demonstration, and the chance to site in bows and firearms for use at different distances. After fully completing the course the FWC mails the student’s Florida Hunter Safety Card. Once a student has their Safety Card they can separately order, purchase, and have their Florida Hunter’s License mailed to them.

Anyone born on or after June 1, 1975, and 16 years or older must pass a hunter safety course before purchasing a hunting license.
