FL driver busted for illegal gator hunting thanks to souvenirs

When two officers stopped a truck in the Corbett Wildlife Management Area to check for a day pass, they discovered something a bit unusual – various alligator parts scattered throughout the cab, including a not-so-lucky alligator foot hanging out of one of the vents.

The driver told Officers Luis Merizio and Casey Schroer that the parts were that of a gator he hunted several years ago, but the officers, with their keen sense of smell, suspected otherwise. The man finally admitted to illegally killing that alligator just a few days prior and was promptly cited for the illegal kill.

It’s not illegal to hunt alligators in Florida, so long as you get a permit to do so here.
