San Francisco, CA -(Ammoland.com)- With the release of its first trailer a few weeks ago, studio Campo Santo has shown viewers a promising mystery that envelops a ranger and the distant yet ever growing relationship he has with his supervisor.

Firewatch is a mystery game set in the great outdoors of the Wyoming wilderness, where the only responsive contact the player has is a person on the other end of a small handheld radio. An outstandingly unique and original idea from the studio Campo Santo, at its core it seems to recapitulate the story of a wilderness ranger living his days perched high atop a mountain in his Lookout Tower, until something strange draws him out and into the wild.

Here’s a look at the trailer below:

Firewatch is a first-person adventure game that seats players in the shoes of a man named Henry who recently retreated from the disarray of his life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Henry’s job entails keeping a lookout for smoke throughout the environment’s lushful forestry and ultimately keeping the wilderness and all of its inhabitants safe. Henry’s supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to the player at all times through the use of a small, handheld radio.

Firewatch seems to be set in an earlier time period with Henry using an old typewriter as his main form of  documenting all that he sees

Poor Henry seems to be losing his mind as he wanders about the forest in search of something. From the trailer, it seems as though the characters may develop as the story continues to progress, waiting for the player to discover and unravel the mystery that lies ahead. Players will face the toughest of questions while traversing across a wild and unknown environment, and making choices and that will ultimately have a positive or negative impact on the only meaningful relationship they have.

The game is the first exertion from a team of notable game developers and designers known for their previous work in the acclaimed series The Walking Dead developed by Telltale Games. The entirety of the team is comprised of Nels Anderson who worked on Mark of the Ninja with developer Klei Entertainment, Telltale Games’ alumni Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin, as well as the renowned graphic designer Olly Moss.

While currently in development with expectations to be released sometime in 2015 for PC on the Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems. Studio Campo Santo has also stated that they’re currently exploring prospects for releasing the game on consoles.
