An FBI agent’s car — containing three guns and tactical gear — was stolen at a Chicago gas station early Monday morning, according to local reports.
Chicago police say the agent, a 32-year-old man, left the agency-issued vehicle, a white Chevy Equinox, running and unattended long enough for a thief to get in and flee.
The vehicle contained two Glock pistols, an M4, an FBI bulletproof vest and other tactical gear, according to news reports. The vehicle was stolen from a gas station in the west loop area. Chicago police and the FBI are working together to recover the vehicle and items.
CPD and the FBI have been working together to reduce gun violence in the Windy City. Their efforts have been credited with helping reduce the violent crime rate.
