Fast And Furious- Congressional Pressure For Holder’s Resignation Grows

Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- It appears that as a result of Congressman Darrell Issa’s February 28 announcement that Attorney General Eric Holder and the DOJ were not complying with the investigation into gun-walking ties to the death of Federal Agent Jaime Zapata, six more U.S. Reps have added their names to the list calling for Holder’s resignation.

The six Reps, Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Pete Olson (R-TX), Mike Conaway (R-TX), Cliff Stearns (R-FL), and Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), bring the total number of House members calling for Holder’s resignation to 109.

And four of these six —Huizenga, Gardner, Olson, and Conaway— have also signed Rep. Paul Gosar’s official House resolution expressing “no confidence” in Holder. And the addition of their names adds significant pressure to House leadership to allow Gosar’s resolution to reach the House floor for a vote.

Issa has made it clear that DOJ is “refusing to cooperate” with the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the murder of Agent Zapata (just as they refused to cooperate into the investigation surrounding the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry).  And he has put Holder on notice: “I have told the Attorney General that it is contemptible, and I will seek, if necessary, contempt of the House, if we can’t get cooperation under the constitution in our investigation.

Pressure is now growing for the House leadership to act with Issa and go beyond giving mere lip service to the investigation that has been taking place during the last year.
