Dutch Oven Cook-Off Planned at Cabela’s
GLENDALE, ARIZONA — Cabela’s will hold a Dutch Oven cooking competition on Sunday, November 16, 2008 in front of the store in Glendale, Arizona. There is no entry fee to compete and there will be gift card prizes in both the main course and dessert/sweet bread category. A youth classification for cooks 16 years-old and younger will be judged separately. All cooks will receive a discount at Cabela’s the day of the event.
This is not a sanctioned event, but a friendly, open to the public competition and an opportunity to just have some fun. Set up begins at 10:00am, dessert judging will begin at 1:00pm; main course judging at 2:00pm. The public is invited to stop by and taste test the entries following judging.
Volunteers from the International Dutch Oven Society will be available to offer advice and assistance to newcomers and experienced cooks alike.
