Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  On December 29 2014 –while NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio  was working to set up a meeting with police union leaders to ubiquitously make amends– his aides were placing phone calls to New York City Council members asking them “to blast Patrolman’s Benevolent Association head Pat Lynch and officer officers” over the open disdain demonstrated toward de Blasio after the executions of NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos.

The aides were particularly outraged over the number of NYPD officers who turned their backs to de Blasio at police funeral services.

According to DNAInfo.com, an unnamed city lawmaker said: “City Hall wanted me to blast the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association for turning their backs to him. They called up Monday, said they were calling all of us, and that it was our obligation to stand up defending the mayor.”

Mail Online reports: “Many NYPD cops are furious with the mayor for his sympathy toward protesters who rallied against alleged police brutality when a grand jury…[did not] indict an officer for the chokehold death of Eric Garner.”

It was after the jury’s decision not to indict that de Blasio said he “talked to his biracial son about the possibility that he could be stopped by the NYPD.” And then, not long after that, the execution of the two NYPD officers took place.

Outraged officers, who felt abandoned by their own mayor, circled the wagons to protect themselves. On December 30 Breitbart News pointed to a New York Post report showing NYPD arrests were down 66 percent for the week of Christmas, compared with the same time period in 2013. “Traffic tickets and summons for minor offenses” were down by “94 percent.
