Ammoland Shooting SportsU.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- D.C. resident, Allan James, is facing felony firearms charges after running what the FBI called a “virtual gun store” on Facebook.

According to court documents, the FBI received a tip that the felon was selling rifles, handguns, ammunition and AR15 magazines on the “Made Mane Yusef” Facebook page that he ran for his illegal business. The FBI was able to get conversations between James and other users about the selling of firearms and ammunition. James also made videos show the guns he had for sale which he sold for between $500 and $600

One firearm James was found to have in his possession was a MAC-10 machine pistol that according to James was purchased illegally in Baltimore. James used slang words such as “joint” for gun and “eggs” for bullets. This code did not stop the FBI from being able to figure out what James was selling on the public Facebook page.

James possession of firearms was an open secret on Facebook. He was very open about carrying and selling guns. His mother wrote on one video “Really Allan that video. Wow. When are you going to get it. Everybody know you strapped. You have to broadcast it.” James did not act on his mothers’ criticism.

According to D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said his intelligence does an excellent job of using social media to track criminals like James. He stated to Fox 5 in DC, “We have made a number of cases where we see images of people holding firearms. These are extremely difficult cases to make, but that brazenness, we have a response to that. I’m hopeful, and I will reiterate this – if somebody sees something like that, please forward it to our investigators so we can take a look at it.”

James faces a court hearing in November and currently being held without bond. The repeated felon was arrested in South East D.C. carrying a firearm. He faces local and federal firearms charges.
