Crowbar-wielding ‘career criminal’ shot by CCP-holder (VIDEO)

Oklahoma authorities say a concealed-carry permit holder appears to have acted lawfully when he shot a man wielding a crowbar during what police believe could have been an attempted robbery outside of a Tulsa Burger King Sunday evening.

After grabbing some grub, the armed citizen walked outside and was confronted by a man with a crowbar. Witnesses described the suspect as “not acting normal” and when he came at the CCP-holder, he was shot once in the upper arm.

The suspect, who was not identified but described by Sgt. Robert Rohloff as a 31-year-old “career criminal,” immediately fled from the scene, but showed up at a local hospital soon thereafter. Hospital staff called the police, who subsequently questioned the suspect, who was last listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, but charges could not be filed against the suspect until further information was obtained by authorities.

“We don’t know if this was going to be a robbery or something else all together, but you don’t pull a crowbar out on somebody that’s armed,” Rohloff noted.
