A federal court sentenced a convicted felon to 21 months in prison and three years supervised release for unlawful possession of a firearm, the Justice Department announced Feb. 23.
Lorenzo Carter, 21, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, pleaded guilty to the charges on Oct. 14. He was arrested on April 8, 2015, when police found a .22-caliber pistol he placed on a tire of a parked car. He’s been in police custody ever since.
Before his arrest, Carter had been convicted of carrying a pistol without a permit and illegally receiving a pistol. The Justice Department said both are felony offenses.
