A Colombian hitman critically injured his mark and fatally shot the victim’s brother as he tried to intervene.
The hitman entered the bar and ordered a beer as he identified his target, 27-year-old Edison Cortes. He pulled a pistol out of his bag and shot Cortes five times. Cortes’ brother, 25-year-old Frank, Cortes, rushed the assailant but was fatally shot in the chest, Mirror reports.
According to Madellin police commander Gen. Yesid Vasquez, the city of Madellin is home to approximately 500 hitmen.
Edison Cortes was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Frank Cortes was pronounced dead on the scene.
