Carjacker scared off by would-be victim’s purple pistol (VIDEO)

An attempted carjacking Monday morning in Boise, Idaho, came to an abrupt end when the suspect realized his would-be victim was armed with a gun.

The woman, who did not want to be identified, said the incident left her feeling shocked and fearful, unsure of what could have happened if she was not armed.

The woman just dropped off her 9-year-old daughter and was driving alone around 7:30 a.m. when the suspect jumped in front of her car. She said she hit the brakes and her car stalled, then the man came at her.

The suspect opened the woman’s door and demanded her keys but when she refused, he started striking her in the head repeatedly. Eventually, the suspect starting pulling the woman’s hair in an attempt to get her out of the car.

“I finally said, ‘OK, OK, that’s enough stop! I’ll give you my purse,’” the woman recalled.

But when she turned to get her purse, she grabbed a gun from her console instead. She said she simply aimed the weapon at the suspect and he immediately ran away.

The woman said she believes if it wasn’t for her being armed, the suspect would have continued to hit her.

“I honestly don’t know if he would have stopped,” she said.

The suspect remains at large.
