Cabela’s Mitchell, S.D. Store to Host Pheasant Classic

Sidney, NE -(Ammoland.com)- Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will celebrate Cabela’s Pheasant Classic event with sales, guest appearances, seminars, family activities, sponsor exhibits, product demonstrations and more at the company’s Mitchell, S.D. location, Thursday, Oct. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 19.

The celebration of the upcoming pheasant season will kick-off with special sale prices and in-store registration to win a $500 Cabela’s gift card Thursday, Oct. 9. The gift card winner will be announced Saturday, Oct. 18. Sales prices will continue to Sunday, Oct. 19.

Special appearances, seminars, family activities, sponsor exhibits, product demonstrations and more will take place Thursday, Oct. 16 to Sunday, Oct. 19. Special appearances will include:

  • Tom Dokken, inventor of Dokken’s DeadFowl Trainer and author/founder of Dokken Dog Supply – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17
  • Benny Spies, host of “GUN IT with Benny Spies” television show – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18
  • Scott Linden, host of “Wingshooting USA” television show – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18

 

Family activities, sponsor demonstrations and special events to take place include:

  • Cabela’s Pheasants Hunters’ Breakfast – 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16; Friday, Oct. 17; and Saturday, Oct. 18.

Cabela’s also will host the Cabela’s Great American Banded Bird Hunt. This contest will offer more than $20,000 in prizes to customers 18 years and older who register and legally harvest a specially banded pheasant during the South Dakota pheasant season beginning Saturday, Oct. 18 and ending Sunday, Jan. 4. End of season contest prizes, including a $2,000 Cabela’s shopping spree, will be awarded on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015.

Additionally, customers who upload photographs using #CabelasMitchell to Twitter or Instagram to be eligible to win a $100 Cabela’s gift card.

“According to the South Dakota Wildlife Division, the 2014 pheasant brood survey increased 76 percent compared to 2013,” said Jennifer Johnston, marketing manager for Cabela’s Mitchell location. “This should lead to increased opportunities and participation for outdoor enthusiasts who live in or visit the state. Cabela’s Pheasant Classic event is a great way to kick-off this year’s exciting season and offer customers the products and knowledge they need to be successful.”

Extended store hours during Cabela’s Pheasant Classic are: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18; and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
