Bushnell Partners With the Folds of Honor Foundation
Overland Park, KS. –-(Ammoland.com)- Bushnell has expanded its support of the Folds of Honor Foundation with a new promotion aimed at the hunting and shooting market.
In 2010 Bushnell partnered with the Folds of Honor Foundation to support Patriot Golf Day. A special Bushnell Patriot Pack featuring a Tour V2 Laser Rangefinder and a specially designed Skinz protective cover were sold with part of the proceeds going to the foundation.
In 2011 Bushnell will offer a Patriot Edition Combo Pack for the hunting and shooting consumer, featuring a Scout 1000 ARCLaser Rangefinder with a Skinz cover that features the Folds of Honor logo. In addition, a $30 mail-in rebate with an option for the consumer to donate all or a portion of the rebate to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Folds of Honor is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities. FHF provides post-secondary educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service to our great nation. Scholarships can be applied to schooling now or held by Folds of Honor on behalf of young children until needed at the time of enrollment.
The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, a former F-16 pilot, author, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. He was inspired to create the Folds of Honor program after witnessing the return of a fallen soldier on a commercial flight and the faces of his family when his body was unloaded from the plane.
“I had seen first hand the sacrifices that were made by our men and women in the military on a daily basis during my time in Iraq”, said Rooney. “It wasn’t until I saw the pain and grief of the family as they met their fallen hero that I realized that something needed to be done to help them cope with the huge changes they would face in their lives.”
