Update: Police finish searching Lil Wayne’s residence, give the all-clear and break down their perimeter, WSVN reported. Police told reporters they could find no victims in the mansion and are certain the call was a prank. A Miami police spokesperson said that an investigation would be launched to identify the caller. The department will attempt to recoup costs associated with the sizable operation. Miami Beach Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.

Police received a call Wednesday afternoon reporting shots fired at a Miami Beach mansion owned by rapper Lil Wayne and, according to WSVN, four people could be injured.
The call came through the non-emergency line of the Miami Police Department and the caller reportedly said he or she had shot four people and needed help.
A spokesperson for the rappers record label, Young Money Entertainment, tweeted that Lil Wayne, or Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is fine and wasn’t home during the incident.
SWAT officers were also called in and are preparing to enter the residence. A hostage negotiator was also called to the scene, but it’s unclear why.
After setting up a perimeter around the rapper’s home located in an affluent area of Miami, Police believe the call could have been a case of “swatting,” or the practice of calling in false emergency calls, entertainment publication TMZ reported.
Police were recently called to the house after reports of a person lurking around the house.
