New Berlin, WI – Every bowhunting season begins with Sportsman Channel and Dick’s Sporting Goods’ annual Bownanza: four action-packed primetime nights of bowhunting programming on September 10-13.  And this season, one of the most talked about bowhunting TV episodes of the year will kick off Bownanza on September 10 at 7pm ET with “Aporkalypse 2013,” Pig Man: The Series. “Aporkalypse 2013” ranked No.1 ranking by pulling a .7 rating for M18-49 8p to 9p hour.* Also back by popular demand is a special encore airing of Fred Bear: The Father of Bowhunting documentary on Thursday, September 10 at 10 pm ET.

Sportsman is leading the bowhunting TV category by presenting top talent like Brian “Pig Man” Quaca, Levi Morgan, David Blanton, Tim Wells, Fred Eichler and Curt Wells in their shows Pig Man: The Series, Major League Bowhunter, Easton Bowhunting, Monster Bucks, Name the Game, Bowhunter TV and a very special re-air of Fred Bear: Father of Bowhunting.

“Bowhunting is consistently one of the most popular genres on Sportsman Channel and we are proud to offer four nights of prime-time programming that fuels the passion of so many bowhunters.” said Graig Hale, VP of Business Development, Sportsman Channel. “Every year we receive an overwhelming response from our Bownanza stunt and this year our viewers will be captivated with a special encore airing of “Aporkalypse 2013”, Pig Man: The Series and Fred Bear: Father of Bowhunting. Our stable of top hosts is passionate about bowhunting and consistently pushing the limits to discover new ways of enhancing the overall viewing experience.”

“Bownanza” kicks off on Tuesday, September 10 with six series showcasing their best bowhunting episodes beginning with “Aporkalypse 2013”Pig Man: The Series (7:00 pm ET). This is a special encore episode of Pig Man’s Texas feral hog aerial management bowhunt. The special programming continues on September 11, as the stick and string takes over six episodes, punctuated by episodes of Adrenaline Junkies at 9:30 pm and The Zone at 10:00 pm. On Thursday, September 12, the stalking continues starting at 9 pm with Petersen’s HUNTING Adventures and a special re-air of Fred Bear: Father of Bowhunting at 10:30 pm.

And all that adventure is a precursor to Full Draw Fridays, TV’s only night completely dedicated to bowhunting, on September 13, which boasts a full line-up of captivating shows beginning at 8 pm.
