If you’re a fan of the 1991 thriller “The Silence of the Lambs,” looking for a home to buy and have $300,00 to spend, you might want to check out the listing at 8 Circle St. in Perry Township Fay, Pennsylvania.
What’s so special about the four bedroom, one bath, 1910 Princess Anne Victorian style home? It was the infamous house of horrors owned by the skin-peeling, cross-dressing, psychopathic serial killer Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb.
Of course, the house wasn’t actually owned by the fictional character in real life, but rather Scott and Barbara Llyod, who revealed in an interview that prepping the foyer and dining room for the movie took six weeks for just three days of filming.
“They were looking for a home in which you entered the front door and had a straight line through,” Barbara Lloyd told the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. “They wanted it to look like a spider web, with Buffalo Bill drawing Jodie Foster into the foyer, into the kitchen, then into the basement.”
The couple said they can see the house being turned into a horror-themed bed and breakfast. Great idea, but I think I’ll order from the vegetarian menu.
