Armed robbery at Family Dollar thwarted by CCP-holder (VIDEO)

A man who attempted to rob a Cleveland Family Dollar store at gunpoint over the weekend was shot in the head by a patron with a concealed carry permit.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the store around 3 p.m., displayed a gun and demanded money. The CCP-holder, whose name was not released, drew his own weapon and told the suspect to drop his gun. The suspect refused and a gun battle ensued.

At some point the altercation ended up in the parking lot, where the suspect was shot in the head by the armed citizen. Nobody else was injured.

The suspect was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. His condition is not known.
