DeKalb, Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- This week, Reed Snyder, Anthony Hardy, and J.W. Ramp welcome guest panelist Carmen Lout to this week’s episode of the AR-15 Podcast. Episode 115 is a timely topic and covers the ATF’s proposed ban of the common M855 rifle ammunition.

Reed uses his professional expertise to read directly from Title 18 of the United States Code which defines and legislates the use of “armor piercing” ammunition.

It’s important to have basic understanding of statute and statutory interpretation before any real discussion of law can occur, and Reed begins with the definition. Reed lends his personal opinion from the perspective of a lawyer. The discussion naturally moves into the possibility of a ban.

Does the ATF have the legal authority to promulgate regulations as an executive agency? What is the legal impetus that the ATF proposes to use to effectuate this ban?

Finally, and perhaps the most importantly, what can you do as a citizen to oppose the ban if you’re so inclined? Voice concerns via email, letter, or phone call with your House representative and your U.S. senators to be part of the process. And as always, listener feedback is welcome so don’t be shy!
