USA -(Ammoland.com)- Ammunition Wines, a Sonoma County-based wine company that makes, markets and distributes high caliber wines across the country, has set up shop in booth #6056 at Safari Club International Convention 2017.

Ammunition Wines is one of the fastest growing premium wine brands in the U.S., expanding their reach from one state in November 2014 to nearly half the country in only about two years.

Andy Wahl, GM, Winemaker and Ammunition Wine co-founder, credits the companies growth to their individual approach to their wine and customers.

“We have wines that speak to people. We create advocates who make Ammunition Wine their own.” Wahl said. “Our wines are like wiener dogs. Lots of personality and individuality, but a tough-as-nails hunting dog with a serious mean streak.”

Ammunition Wine sets itself apart with its unique, vintage early 1900’s-style packaging and tin capsules to mimic the look of a cartridge.

The company is trying to set itself apart from the long-standing wine industry establishment.

“The alcohol industry needs a shake up. It’s just like the tech industry or food. We need to break the conventional, 1700’s stuffy French wine powers that be.” Wahl said. “Ammunition Wines are for the guy who doesn’t know how to pronounce that stuffy French name on the drink menu but still wants an affordable, yet quality wine.”

Ammunition Wines was conceived as the as the perfect match for game. It’s a soft blend of fruit, rich spices and supple tannins that give just the right touch to pair with cooked game like elk, venison or wild fowl.

Ammunition Wine offers a wide range of wines for any type of wine drinkers taste available at their SCI 2017 Convention booth.

Here are some of the wines they are offering:

Ammuniton Wine Chardonnay

2015 Ammunition Wine Chardonnay: Light golden in color, this medium bodied Chardonnay is vibrant and fresh with a creamy texture from the barrel fermentation.

Baked apples and pears with a hint of citrus dominate the palate. This Chardonnay finishes rich and smooth with a hint of lingering spice.

Pairs great with a variety of meats such as chicken and pork.

Particularly enjoyable with fresh salmon and brick chicken, as it can hold up to big flavors while not overwhelming the more delicate nuances of foods.

This wine costs $23 per bottle.

Ammunition Pinot Nior Wine

2014 Ammunition Pinot Noir: Ripe black cherry framed by a subtle oakiness dominate the aromas of this medium to full bodied Pinot Noir.

Sweet plum and cherry flavors with subtle oak tones that are wrapped smooth silky tannins make this a wine that is enjoyable now, but will continue to improve for several years.

Wonderfully versatile for pairing, I think this would be particularly enjoyable with pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto, ribs, aged cheese, venison or an afternoon BLT.

This wine costs $28 per bottle.

Ammunition Wine Badgerhound Zinfandel

2013 Badgerhound Zinfandel: We set out to make a Zinfandel as tenacious as the Badgerhound.

It was originally created as a pet project, but it has quickly gained a cult following in select markets nationwide. One pour, and you’ll see why. The 2013 vintage presents appealing aromas of crushed raspberries and blackberries are framed by vanilla and cigar box notes.

This wine shows sweet concentrated fruit in the mouth with plenty of oak, tannins and acidity to balance the ripeness. The finish is long, rich and intense.

This 2013 vintage should age well for the next five years. Pairs great with barbecue dishes such as St. Louis-style ribs, Memphis pulled-pork and Texas-style brisket.

This wine costs $23 per bottle.

Ammunition Wine 'The Equalizer' Red Blend

They call it “The Equalizer” for a reason: it levels the playing field with wines priced in another stratosphere. Versatile and pleasing to a variety of palettes, this wine consistently delivers the goods.

The Equalizer is medium to full-bodied with a fruit-forward character. The 2014 Equalizer Red Blend is deep purplish to ruby in color. Its nose has plenty of blackberry, black cherry, baking spice and vanilla notes that are both intense yet elegant.

The finish is both long and complex with a balance of sweet fruit and tannic structure that will allow this wine to age gracefully for five to ten years.

Pairs wonderfully with skirt steak, carne asada & any type of grilled meat. This wine loves spicy and blackened foods.

This wine costs $23 per bottle.
