American Beauty: Four minutes of awe-inspiring landscapes (VIDEO)

Using 4,000 ultra high definition and time-lapse photography, Randy Halverson captures four minutes of the most breathtaking scenes in Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota.

According to Halverson, “The slower moving light streaks are airplanes, the fat ones are satellites.”

A bolide meteor can be seen at :56, two more at 1:33, and meteors with persistent trains show up at 2:29 and 3:20. The GSSAP and ANGELS satellites’ final boosts come in at 2:43. At 2:55, you’ll notice an owl in a tree, and throughout the video you can find the Northern Lights, with a pink aurora over the sand dunes of Wyoming’s Red Desert at 3:00.
