Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- Deer season is once again upon us! Both bow and gun seasons are now open across the state of Alabama. That means big game and big fun. With the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association, it also means a chance to win big.

The Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association is once again holding its annual Big Buck Photo Contest to help promote the great deer hunting opportunities in the region. Thanks to Great Southern Outdoors Wildlife Plantation in Union Springs, the grand prize winner will receive a pheasant hunt for two valued at $700 and a $100 Bass Pro Shops gift card.

“We love to see and share the great stories that come from Alabama’s Black Belt region and this annual photo contest is an excellent way for hunters to show off,” said Pam Swanner, Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association Project Director. “The Black Belt has some of the best deer hunting in the nation and its people demonstrate the very best of Southern hospitality.”

The contest runs on the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association Facebook page. The winner will be determined by the number of “likes” on their photo. The rules are simple: Photos submitted must be of bucks taken in the Black Belt region during the 2015-16 season. Last season’s winners are not eligible to enter. If the winner is younger than 18, he or she must be accompanied by an adult 25 years old or older for the hunt. Send your photos to photocontest@albbaa.org. The deadline for entry is one week after the close of the 2015-16 deer season, Feb. 17.

The Big Buck Photo Contest is open to hunters who bag their trophy deer in any of the 23 counties that comprise the Black Belt. Those counties are Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Crenshaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Sumter, Tuscaloosa and Wilcox.
