Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  On December 22nd Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry sent two tweets in defense of Phil Robertson’s right to express his “opinions & beliefs.”

He framed his defense with a rhetorical question about the “crackdown” on freedom of speech.

CNSNews.com posted Perry’s tweets. The first one from 1:46 pm: “So what do you think about this Duck Dynasty hoopla? More crackin’ down on Freedom of Speech in the US or what?”

At 1:50 pm he followed with: “Seems to me people have a right to express their opinions & religious beliefs. But that doesn’t mean we have to agree.”

Perry is a Republican but makes clear that “[he’s] a Republican from the old school.” He believes in hard work and standing for what you believe.

According to Noisecreep.com, in 2012 Perry talked about media attacks on celebrities who take a stand for what’s not politically correct: “So much of this stuff is politicizing, what the media does is so much about selling a product. It makes me kind of nuts.”
