Henry Nock was famous for his 7-shot sea-sweeping Volley Gun but he also made this very interesting early 1800s self-priming flintlock with a full half-dozen rotating barrels.
Outfitted with six 18-inch long, 44 gauge barrels that are hand-rotated, much like a giant pepperbox pistol, into position, the gun uses an ingenious automatic primer system.
The one shown off by Ian from Forgotten Weapons, above, is up for auction this weekend at RIA, estimated price: $20,000 – $30,000.
Or, $3,000-$5,000 per barrel.
