USA –-(Ammoland.com)- This weeks all-new episode of American Guns kicks off with a birthday surprise for Gunsmoke’s gun historian, Bob. Rich Wyatt and the rest of the family take him on an outing to “blow” out his birthday candles with a firearm Bob has always wanted to shoot – the hard-to-find Gatling gun.
“Bob is a treasure to have and a treasure to be around,” said Renee Wyatt. “We love him dearly on a personal level and we are so grateful for his expertise at Gunsmoke. It gives us that added “X” factor that no other gun shops have. He truly loves firearms and is a natural historian. We are so fortunate to have the benefit of his passion… he really knows his stuff!”
Back at the store, competition zoot shooter Jason looks to modify his period-correct Thompson gun by shortening the stock and barrel, while maintaining its historical integrity. Kurt Wyatt suggests several ways to make the gun lighter, impressing both Jason and his father.
Another customer, big game hunter Henry, presents a challenging request to Rich. Henry wants to use a 50 caliber rifle to hunt, and asks Rich to construct it to weigh under 20 lbs. Rich agrees to give it a shot, but acknowledges that it will be difficult to accomplish.
The Gunsmoke employees get to work on the gun modifications, but encounter several roadblocks due to the specific nature of the alterations. Tension builds amongst the gunsmiths as mistakes are made and egos are bruised.
Additionally, Rich attempts to acquire a selection of rare guns from collector Tom. The guns won’t be easy for Rich to obtain, however. Tom isn’t sure he wants to accept Rich’s offer. See below for an EXCLUSIVE clip of Rich and Tom shooting guns from this elite collection.
