Richard Mann sits down with Jeff Kirkham and goes over things to keep in mind with the Kalashnikov platform.
Kirkham, in his travels with the military– currently a Master Sergeant (18Z) with the 19th SFG (A)– got a chance to do some of the first non-bias “official” testing in the West on the AK for the Department of Defense and Special Operations Command– though he admits they were set up for fail with beat down Chicom Type 56s that had seen better days.
With that in mind, the test results observed by Kirkham and his crew then, and in continued use, were surprising and he shares the five biggest things to remember about these guns.
