2 arrested after accidental discharge during wedding at NYC’s Waldorf Astoria

The couple hadn’t planned a shotgun wedding, but a Saturday night service at the famous up-scale Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City was abruptly halted when a guest’s handgun accidentally fired.

At least four were injured – one grazed by the bullet and the others from flying glass – but all of the injuries were considered minor.

There are conflicting reports about how exactly the gun discharged or what happened immediately afterward, but photographers at the scene captured a picture of one of the men who were arrested. The picture shows a large hole just below the pocket of his pants.

Vladimir Gotlibovsky, 42, is charged with reckless endangerment and assault. Felix Gotlibovsky, 51, faces charges for criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence. Some reports indicate that the man who had the gun handed it over to another individual after the gun discharged. It isn’t immediately known how the men are related. Authorities are also working to see if Vladimir had a valid concealed carry permit, as he claimed.

The couple reportedly went on with the ceremony following the incident and are (hopefully) enjoying a nice honeymoon somewhere at the moment.
