Crossbow Revolution Magazine
Crossbow Revolution magazine covers all aspect of modern crossbow hunting, the tactics, gear, records and latest news. The digital version is on iTunes, Google Play and Windows Store.

Crossbow Revolution covers all aspects of modern crossbow hunting, from the basics of buying a new crossbow to extreme hunts and news. The magazine even called manufacturers anonymously and wrote about the varying commitments to customer service.

“This is a watershed year for crossbows,” said Editor John Geiger. “Manufacturers are finally delivering excellent triggers and lighter, narrower and safer crossbows. Plus, like never before, they are gaining acceptance across the country. More than half of all U.S. states now allow crossbows in archery season.”

Crossbow Revolution writers, headed by industry expert Jon Silks, tested accuracy, arrow speed, trigger weight, noise level and other factors that are important to know when buying a crossbow. The magazine devoted 12 pages to the ambitious undertaking and another five pages to other new bows. Arrows, broadheads and accessories are also covered.

Several crossbows stood out during the testing for technological excellence or as great buys for those on a tighter budget. In addition to the objective testing, authors also gave their opinions — the positives and negatives — of each crossbow.

Crossbows are gaining popularity. Rifle hunters see them as a way to increase time afield by hunting with them during archery seasons. They are also a strong recruiting tool for new hunters. Older hunters find they can switch to crossbows when vertical bows start taking a toll on their shoulders.

Crossbows went from 15 percent of the total archery sales in 2007 to more than 30 percent just five years later, according to the Archery Trade Association.
