Wisconsin-(Ammoland.com)- The nine day gun deer hunt is just over a week away – make sure you’re ready! Join staff Thursday, Nov. 10 (tomorrow) at noon for one final “deer season” chat before the hunt. Whether you are looking for more info about tagging your deer or gamereg, staff will be on hand to answer all of your questions. Learn more and sign up for a reminder at dnr.wi.gov, keyword “chat.”

Use some of these helpful tools to prep for your hunt:

As a reminder, all deer hunters must:

  • carry printed carcass tags while hunting;
  • validate the tag by writing the date of harvest on the tag after killing the deer (you must have a writing utensil); and
  • register your deer via phone or online and write the confirmation on the tag (if the deer is left unattended, the tag must remain with the deer).

If you purchased your deer hunting license prior to July 28, you may not have received your Farmland Zone 2 tags. Go to your account in GoWild.WI.gov and print them at home. If you can’t print them at home, you can purchase a print out for $2 at any license agent or you can call the DNR Call Center at 1-888-936-7463 to obtain your tag(s).

Please remind fellow hunters to buy their license early to learn the ins and outs of the Go Wild system – visit GoWild.wi.gov to learn more.

DNR Customer Service Representatives are available to assist the public from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Customers may reach customer service at 1-888-WDNR INFo (1-888-936-7463) or by e-mail at csweb@wisconsin.gov.

Thank you for your continued investment in Wisconsin’s outdoors.
