U.S. Junior Scores Historic First at World Biathlon Championships

Grace Boutot of South Kent, Maine, scored a historic first for the United States by winning a Silver medal at the Youth Biathlon World Championships, recently concluded in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

Boutot is one of a growing number of U.S. biathletes that are proving their skill on the firing range. Her Silver-medal performance in the individual competition was paced by a superb 19 x 20 shooting performance. Boutot matched the 19 x 20 shooting of the Gold-medal winning Chinese biathlete but a slightly slower skiing time left her 1:03 away from the gold medal podium.
