The testing officer from Rhode Island was impressed saying, “The thought put into the design and the materials used really stood out as a pack that was not only versatile, but could withstand anything.” This particular officer put the pack through its paces at the range, on trail hikes, as a patrol bag and to carry weights when exercising. He commented on how the “padded back really made a huge difference, especially when used for long durations” and found the two pouches for water bottles and the hydration bladder handy. This testing officer closed out his review saying that TPG had “really hit a home run with this pack.”

The testing officer from Missouri enjoyed the numerous storage compartments available inside and out. He mentioned that the “padding was nice and helped with making the bag comfortable while carrying around all day,” as well as stating that the reinforced bottom helped the bag stand up without falling over.

This easily customizable pack includes several new features for Gen 2, including a reinforced handle, loop for ID patches and a new foam pad design in the back. Highly comfortable padded shoulder straps, a quick release waist belt and a durable tarpaulin bottom material were employed for use in adverse conditions. The SAP1-G2 also features two large storage compartments and two zipper pulls on the main compartment for easy access to the inside of the bag. The pack also features two external pockets designed to fit water bottles, as well as a compartment for carrying a hydration bladder and an opening at the top of the bag for the hydration tube. Four external side compression straps help bear the load and avoid any additional stress on the zippers. The SAP1-G2 is available in Black, Coyote Tan and OD Green. MSRP $146.
