Laramie, WY -(AmmoLand.com)- Sinclair Oil has long had a physical presence in Wyoming – its green “dinos” dot many of the state's small towns.
The oil company helps fuel the Cowboy State's economy, but it also works to support the causes and programs that better Wyoming's communities. This year, Sinclair is showing their support of Wyoming's women and families by sponsoring the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt.
The Wyoming Women's Foundation (WYWF), which seeks to provide a permanent resource for Wyoming's women and girls, created the hunt to promote camaraderie and mentorship for women through hunting. The annual event raises awareness about, and raises funds for, the Foundation. In just two years the event has raised more than $120,000, impacting grant-making and special projects that improve the economic self-sufficiency of women and the future of girls across the state.
Susan Sharp, Vice President of Safety and Regulatory Excellence at Sinclair Oil and Women's Foundation board member is delighted for Sinclair to be supporting an organization that is doing so much good in Wyoming.
“As the 5th largest employer in the state of Wyoming, Sinclair recognizes the value of WYWF's efforts as well as opportunities to work together in encouraging more women to be part of Wyoming's critical oil industry.”
The Wyoming Women's Foundation recognizes Sinclair's sponsorship supports women beyond the hunt.
“We are so appreciative of Sinclair's awareness of the many benefits to women working in non-traditional careers or industries,” says Sarah McCance, WYWF director. “Their partnership in our work towards economic self-sufficiency makes them a natural fit to support the antelope hunt.”
The Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt began in 2013 and has proven a huge success! Hunters from across the nation participate, including prominent leaders like Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kite, who helped found the hunt. This year the hunt will welcome host of Skull Bound TV, Jana Waller as its special guest.
