SHACKLEFORDS, VA (September 2013) – Team International Training, Inc. (ITI) members Morgan Allen and Gary Byerly participated at the 2013 US East Coast IDPA Regional held September 14th, 2013 at the Caswell Ranch, located in Prospect Hill, NC.
Allen won the Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) Division, while Byerly took home the Custom Defensive Pistol (CDP) Division.
Both men competed through 12 stages and over 170 rounds of fire to claim their titles.
“The 2013 US East Coast Regional was without a doubt the most difficult match I’ve shot this year,” remarked Byerly. “Tight shots were the norm, along with lots of moving targets, and combined with some unique challenges to the shooter and you have a difficult match. I managed to avoid most, but not all, of these pitfalls and pull out a win in the CDP Division. Congratulations to my teammate Morgan Allen for his win in the ESP Division. Thanks to an outstanding staff that was very professional and courteous.”
“This is the first match I’ve attended with as many shooting positions and extremely narrow windows for shots, definitely something that increasing the difficulty levels in practice helped to mitigate,” commented Allen. “Congrats to Gary Byerly for his win and thank you to all those who’ve helped make adding to the wins possible, in particular: ITI, Rangelog, Rainier Ballisitics, Safariland, Abernathy Gun Works, and 5.11.”
Morgan Allen will next compete at the 2013 IDPA US National Championship to be held September 17th – 21st, 2013 at the United States Shooting Academy in Tulsa, OK. Gary Byerly will next compete at the INFINITY Firearms NC Sectional Championship 2013 to be held October 4th – 6th, 2013 at the Sir Walter Gun Club in Creedmoor, NC.

About Morgan Allen
It’s hard to believe that Morgan Allen has only been shooting pistols since 2005, considering he has over 40 IDPA State and Regional Division Championship titles under his belt since 2007. Having moved up the ladder from an IDPA Novice to Master in only 14 months, Allen has also won eight top-five Division finishes at IDPA National Championship matches. In 2011, he was chosen to be a member of the 2011 US Team at the IDPA World Championship. Allen is an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, as well as an IDPA Safety Officer and PPC Master.
About Gary Byerly
Gary Byerly has been competing in IDPA matches for the past ten years and USPSA and 3-Gun matches for seven years. He is an IDPA ESP and SSP Master, as well as a six-time IDPA State Champion. Byerly is a Master in Production and CDP, a Master in Limited 10 and Single Stack and holds an “A” Classification in Open and Limited in USPSA. Byerly is also a four time Area class winner and a one-time Area Champion.
