Rubalcaba Takes Area 2 Limited-10 Title at USPSA Regional Championships

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Washington – Steve Rubalcaba can tell you exactly how the west was won and he's got the shooting championship title to prove it.

The Websterville man, a competitor in the sport of Practical Shooting, claimed the Limited-10 Pistol title at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association's Area 2 Regional Championships held in Mesa, Arizona at the Rio Salado range November 6-9.

Rubalcaba won by just over 99 points finishing with a score of 1446.1730 after taking the lead on the third of 11 stages.

“Steve shot a rock solid match. When you win three stages and finish in the top three on eight out of the 11 as Steve did, they call that consistency and they call you the winner,” said Chris Endersby, USPSA's Area 2 Director.

Rounding out the top five in the Limited-10 division were Pete Corkey of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., in second with 1346.2856, Alan Liotta of Rose Mount, Minn., in third with 1333.5038 and Tim Copperstone of Tuscon, Ariz., in fourth with 1322.9433 and Brian Crews of San Jose, Calif., in fifth with 1292.0100.
