Laramie, WY -(AmmoLand.com)- There has been a tremendous uptick in women’s hunting over the last few years.
According to Census Bureau statistics, the total number of women hunters increased by 25 percent between 2006 and 2011. Remington, who recently began its Women’s Initiative, is supporting this trend in a very direct way with its sponsorship of the 3rd Annual Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt.
The hunt will be held Oct. 8-11, 2015 at the Ranch at Ucross in northeastern Wyoming.
The Wyoming Women’s Foundation (WYWF), which seeks to provide a permanent resource for Wyoming’s women and girls, created the hunt to promote camaraderie and mentorship for women through hunting. The annual event raises awareness about, and raises funds for, the Foundation. In just two years the event has raised more than $120,000, impacting grant-making and special projects that improve the economic self-sufficiency of women and the future of girls across the state.
Ashley Kerr, Manager of Female Initiatives – PR and Marketing for Remington and professional hunter herself, is thrilled to be returning to the event.

Kerr and Remington believe the antelope hunt is an incredible opportunity to introduce women to hunting. In fact, they are creating a unique opportunity for women who have never hunted to attend the event. Kerr says women will be encouraged to share videos describing why they’d like to participate. The creators of the winning videos will receive an all-expense paid trip to the hunt and be mentored by two pro-hunters from Remington.

The Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt began in 2013 and has proven a huge success! Hunters from across the nation participate, including prominent leaders like Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Kite, who helped found the hunt.
