Michigan -(Ammoland.com)- It’s summer camp season, and not just for the kids, but adults, too.

The Michigan Recreation and Park Association and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources invite adults to feel like kids again at the second annual “Camp Kitigin.” This three-day summer camp experience is open to adults 21 and older and takes place Sept. 18-20 at YMCA Camp Timbers in West Branch, Michigan.

Camp Kitigin is a screen-free event, meaning no phones, tablets or Wi-Fi (with exceptions for emergencies and after-dinner family check-ins). Participants will rediscover how to play with camp activities like canoeing, high ropes, team- and confidence-building exercises, night hikes, crafts, singalongs, campfires and more.

Stress can cause problems mentally and physically, including high blood pressure, moodiness, depression and even diabetes, according to the American Psychological Association. Camp Kitigin aims to help participants de-stress with a great summer experience so that they can return to daily life with a sense of rejuvenation and overall well-being.

“Camp Kitigin is more than just a weekend at camp,” said Stephanie Wirtz, a DNR recreation programmer. “It’s a chance to reconnect with your inner child, get back in touch with nature and make memories with new friends.”

Cost is $200 per camper, which includes lodging, meals, activities, crafts and a Camp Kitigin participant pack. Proceeds will be donated to the Michigan Recreation and Park Association to help fund recreation programs throughout Michigan. Sponsorship opportunities are available to maximize donations to recreation programs.
