Lansing, MI -(AmmoLand.com)- Michigan Natural Resources Commission vice chairman J.R. Richardson of Ontonagon will be the guest of program host Don Ryan on Sunday’s broadcast of “The Ryan Report” on WLUC-TV6 in Marquette.

The 30-minute public affairs talk show examines current events and issues around Upper Michigan. The live-on-tape program will air at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 24.

In his guest appearance on “The Ryan Report,” Richardson focused on this year’s 40th anniversary of the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, but he also discussed other issues including deer regulations and fishing opportunities for families.

Richardson previously served as Michigan Natural Resources Commission chairman. He is one of two Upper Peninsula natives on the commission and he is the longest-serving member of the current panel. NRC Chairman John Matonich is from Bessemer.

The NRC is a seven-member public body whose members are appointed by the Governor, subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.

The commission has exclusive authority to regulate the taking of game and sportfish and is authorized to designate game species and authorize the establishment of the first open season for animals through issuing orders.

Richardson was initially appointed to the NRC in 2007. He was reappointed most recently in 2014. His term expires at the end of 2018.

The Richardson “Ryan Report” interview will be available for viewing online the day after the program airs.
