New Jersey -(AmmoLand.com)- After almost a year of waiting Governor Christie’s administration has finally issued their Directive to provide clarification on New Jersey’s gun laws.

Main issues that have been addressed are reasonable deviation, delays and violations for permitting and most importantly “Justifiable Need” for issuing a conceal carry permit.

Although the New Jersey Second Amendment Society does not agree with many parts of the Directives this is a step in the right direction.

The primary flaw in the entire Directive is the lack of punishment for any government official(s) who break the law or do not follow the Directive. What good is it to provide “clarification” when they are already breaking the law and know that there will be no punishment for not following the Directive while simultaneously breaking the law?

We shall see how this plays out but we are very confident this will still require private enforcement of the law…and now the Attorney General’s Directive.

As ridiculous as it sounds that we actually need to have the Governor and the Attorney General to tell the police departments and other agencies to follow the law, we commend their efforts.
