imr product recall september 2 2015 max slowik

IMR Legendary Powders has issued a recall on six lots of 4007 SSC. These lots were sold in both 1-pound and 8-pound containers. If you have any IMR 4007 SSC check the label on the container immediately to determine if your powder is from the affected lots.

Lot numbers affected by the recall are 10130139, 10131139, 10429139, 10430139, 80425139 and 80426139. “Use of this product from these lot numbers shown on the enclosed label may result in spontaneous combustion, fire damage or possible serious injury,” IMR said in the announcement. This recall affects customers across North America including the U.S. and Canada.

If you have some of the affected powder IMR is asking that you pour water into the container as soon as possible to render the powder inert, then dispose the inactive powder safely. If you’ve loaded any ammo using this powder it’s recommended that you pull the bullets and dump the powder into water and get rid of it, too.

IMR will replace the powder at no cost with your choice of any other IMR smokeless powder of your choice. In order to receive the replacement you must mail, email or fax a copy of the container label to IMR along with your shipping address and they’ll get new product out to you asap.

The IMR Powder Company can be reached internationally by calling 1 (800) 622-4366, locally by calling (913) 362-9455. Their fax number is (913) 362-1307. The company may be reached via email at help@imrpowder.com and their postal address is IMR Powder Company, 6430 Vista Drive, Shawnee, KS 66218.
