Lever gun maker Henry USA unveiled a special Texas Tribute Edition Golden Boy rifle Friday– just in time for Christmas.

The Tribute Edition was presented first to NASCAR Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick at the Texas Motor Speedway, just before the AAA Texas 500. Henry’s owner and president, Anthony Imperato, said the rifle was something the company has been working on for a while. Although Henry has in the past announced a wide range of Tribute rifles, for example, one to the Second Amendment, the Texas rifle is the first example of one dedicated to a state.

“Texas loves guns, and we wanted to make sure that this rifle captures that unique Texas magic with a look that no one has ever seen before on a Henry. I think we nailed it,” said Imperato.

The Henry Texas Tribute Edition uses a 20-inch blued octagon barrel with a Brasslite receiver cover, and brass buttplate and barrel band. Chambered in .22 rimfire, it will accept shorts, longs and long rifle cartridges with a magazine capacity that ranges from 16 to 21 rounds accordingly.

The American walnut furniture is finished in a deep black– in honor of black gold (or Texas Tea)– with inlaid metal 5-pointed stars, a Lone Star flag and the word, “Texas” hand filled with gold paint.

With a 14-inch length-of-pull, the Henry Texas Tribute Edition runs 38.5-inches overall with a weight of 6.75-pounds. For those who want to add some glass to the rimfire rifle, the receiver is drilled and tapped. Otherwise, it comes with a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with a brass bead.

Soon to be available nationwide, the MSRP on the Henry Texas Tribute Edition is set at $960.
