The University of South Carolina football team will wear a specially designed helmet sticker this season to honor the nine victims killed at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, earlier this summer, The State reports.

“Our team felt it would be appropriate to wear it,” the Gamecocks’ head coach Steve Spurrier told the newspaper.

The sticker will feature nine doves flying from the trunk of a Palmetto tree. The design was submitted by artist Gil Shuler of Mount Pleasant.
