Firearm Industry Careers & Country Music Legend on Gun Talk Radio
MANDEVILLE, LA –-(Ammoland.com)- Tom discusses the media side of the firearms industry and a fundraiser for the Boy Scouts this week on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk (R) Radio, the only nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
Many a dedicated shooter has dreamed of becoming a “gun writer,” making a living by shooting and testing guns, and then writing about it.
Is that an unattainable fantasy?
The truth is that some bloggers — writing strictly online — have more readers that some of the firearms magazines. Getting involved in a professional group such as the Professional Outdoor Media Association can be a big help to those wondering how to get started. President Laurie Lee Dovey visits with Tom on Gun Talk to talk about becoming a member and what POMA can do for you.
Country music star Louise Mandrell, along with her sisters Barbara and Irlene, are again co-hosts of the Spirit Shoot, presented by Smith and Wesson and Dynamic Research Technologies. Louise visits Gun Talk to discuss the details of the shoot, held this year in Seven Springs Resort, PA on the 2nd and 3rd of May. Profits from the shoot will be used towards purchasing guns for the Boy Scouts, and an endowment for future scouts to attend summer camps.
Also on the show, Pastor Tom Vineyard of Windsor Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Pastor Vineyard wrote an open letter to the city’s police chief, Bill Citty, after reading Citty’s comments on a case where one of his police officers was shot and injured by an illegal immigrant armed with an AR-15 rifle.
