DoubleStar Corp. Mysterious New Gun Prototype

Our chosen profession requires that we read a lot and while thumbing through the daily rags we lighted upon an intriguing new AR-10 style rifle, thanks to the always entertaining Firearms BlogDoubleStar Corp is a decade old gun manufacturer stationed in Winchester, Kentucky.  They specialize in black guns—AR-15 and M16 inspired rifles and carbines specially seasoned to the varying tastes of brotherhood of shooters. And despite being a relatively new name in our gun lexicon, they are also in cahoots with J & T Distributing, who has been supplying military quality parts to the community for over a quarter century.

Coming down the pipe in 2011, DoubleStar will unleash a new .308/7.62mm NATO chambered AR-style sniper rifle.  The Firearm’s Blog snapped the precious few mementos of the prototype at the SHOT Show. They also reported that the design is so new, it arrived at DoubleStar’s booth during the middle of SHOT Show week, hence Firearm’s Blog being the only outfit to report it. It also means that in terms of specifications mystery abounds: DoubleStar uttered not a peep on when it will be available or on the price tag.

So like a lovelorn veteran pining over his war bride, all we’ve got to go on are pictures for the moment. From where we’re sitting, it’s no stretch of the imagination that, decked out with a new paint job, this gun could find a home with everyone from soldiers to hunters.   Check out the pictures at the Firearm’s Blog here.
