MALTA, Mont. –-(Ammoland.com)- A bowhunter education class is planned for Superior this month, and prospective students can register online now.

Classes are set for March 16, 21, 24 and 28 from 7-9:30 p.m. each evening with a field course on Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

All classes are held at the US Forest Service office, 209 West Riverside in Superior. Students must attend all classes to be certified.

Interested students can register online now at fwp.mt.gov. Click on “Bowhunter Education Course Schedule,” or call instructor John Benda at 406-546-2555.

Montana also offers online bowhunter education classes for anyone 18 years and older. Most of the coursework is completed online, and then students must take a field day to receive their certification card.

A field course for online students will be offered in Superior on Saturday, July 30. For more information about the online class and to register for a field day, visit fwp.mt.gov and click on “Bowhunter Education Course Schedule.” There is a $20 fee for the online course.

By state law, all first time bowhunters must complete a bowhunter education course in order to purchase a bow and arrow license in Montana. Bowhunters born after January 1, 1985 must also show proof of completing a hunter education program.
