Catalina, AZ –-(Ammoland.com)- Please join us at the Arizona State Capitol on President’s Day, Monday, February 21, 2011, between 10 AM and 3 PM.

This is a chance to meet your legislators and show your support for pro-rights bills.

The Capitol complex is located at 1700 W. Washington, Phoenix Arizona: www.tinyurl.com/AZcapitol .

There are public parking lots nearby, next to the Wesley Bolin Plaza along 17th Avenue, between Adams and Washington Streets. If those lots are full, there is more public parking available on the west side of the Executive Tower, along 19th Avenue.

We encourage you to contact your legislators to arrange appointments while you are there. You can find your legislators at AzCDL’s Legislative Action Center. Go to wwww.capwiz.com/azcdl/home/ and enter your zip code and/or address if requested. If you have been to our Legislative Action Center recently, your elected officials, along with links to contact them, should already be available to you.

First impressions count! Business casual attire is recommended for those meeting with their elected officials.

If you are wearing a firearm, the Capitol buildings are considered “Public Establishments” and the storage rules apply. Lockers should be readily available.

Dave Kopp, AzCDL’s President and John Wentling, AzCDL’s Vice-president will be at the Capitol that day, lobbying for AzCDL-requested legislation, as always. Please look them up and introduce yourselves.

John will be there at 10 AM to greet you on the Senate Lawn in front of the Capitol. You can also reach him at (623) 373-3607.

About:
AzCDL believes that the emphasis of gun laws should be on criminal misuse and that law-abiding citizens should be able to own and carry firearms unaffected by unnecessary laws or regulations. AzCDL was founded by a group of local activists who recognized that a sustained, coordinated, statewide effort was critical to protecting and expanding the rights of law-abiding gun owners. As a like-minded coalition of activists, the AzCDL founders were instrumental in the successful passage of the first major improvement to Arizona’s CCW (concealed carry) laws since they were instituted in 1994.
