15th Annual Alabama Youth Dove Hunt Schedule Set to Begin on August 25th

Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- Online registration for this year’s Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources 15th Annual Youth Dove Hunts began Aug. 25.

The hunts are free, but pre-registration is required. The preferred method for registering is online at outdooralabama.com. Alabama Youth Dove Hunts are held in open fields, staffed by DCNR personnel, which encourages a safe and secure environment for both parents and participants.

To participate, youth hunters must be age 15 or younger and accompanied by an adult at least 25 years old (or a parent) who holds a valid state hunting license and a Harvest Information Program stamp. Stamps will NOT be available on-site, so be sure to get yours before the hunt. A short welcome session with reminders about hunter safety will be conducted before each hunt. All hunters are encouraged to wear safety glasses and earplugs.

The hunts are set for the following Alabama Black Belt counties, with the scheduled dates in parentheses: Barbour (Oct. 10), Choctaw (Sept. 19), Crenshaw (Sept. 12 and 19), Dallas (Sept. 12 and 19), Hale (Sept. 12 and 19), Lowndes (Sept. 12 and 19), Macon (Oct. 3 and 17), Monroe (Oct. 17 and 24) and Sumter (Sept. 12).
